Shop Smart for Deals on the Things You Need!

Times are hard and money is scarce, but that’s not the only reasons to buy previously used items that we want or need.  You can save a lot of money buying used and you can also feel good about putting these things back into service yourself when others have decided they no longer want or need them.  Buying used is a “green” way to get what you need while keeping the difference in cost of buying new in your wallet.  Here are some great reasons to consider buying used on for many of the things we want or need:

  • Buying used reduces your purchase price and you typically don’t pay taxes on the purchase.
  • When you buy used, you don’t feel so bad if you decide to resell it for whatever reason.  You have less invested and chances are it is probably worth close to the value you paid so you recoup more of the original purchase price.
  • Some things, like furniture, books, CDs, DVDs, tools just don’t wear out that often or become unusable unless they’re abused.  Buying used makes perfect sense when the functional value is still there for your purpose.  Many times they’ve been hardly used at all!
  • Many people feel they need to have the latest and greatest “whatever” even though they already have one.  Buying last year’s model, used, at a great price gives you everything you might want for a much lower cost.
  • Its “green” to buy used so resources aren’t consumed to make a new one.

We know buying used is financially smart, but we also want to make sure we’re getting good value for our money, even if we are spending less.  Here are some tips when you buy used products:

  • Do your research.  If you start with quality products from quality manufacturers, you can count on getting a longer service life out of it even when you’re the 2nd owner.  Check out buyer guides and other resources to determine what brands are best and have the features you want.
  • Do some comparison shopping to make sure you’re paying a fair price for used items.  Take into consideration the overall condition of the item and how you plan to use it yourself so you have reasonable expectations.
  • If you’re buying online and having it shipped, make sure you ask all your questions of the seller before you bid or buy.  Making sure you know what you’re getting before you buy will reduce the chances of disappointment before you shell out your hard-earned cash.
  • Make sure you are buying from a seller who will stand behind their product.  If it fails to live up to the description of condition and functionality, you want to be sure you’ll be able to return it for a full refund or an equivalent replacement.  Every seller is a licensed Pawnbroker with real stores.  This means they want to take care of their customers so you’ll come back and buy again!

At, we want you to have a great shopping experience and get great used items (and sometimes new too) at great prices.  Think about it, people sell their stuff to pawn shops when they need the cash more than the item.  Pawn shops only want to buy items if they are functional and have value to other buyers.  Put those two facts together and you’ve got a seller who’s inspected and tested the items to make sure they have value and are working before offering them for resale to you.  Now, hit our site and check out all the great deals being offered from all these great buyers.  Start your Pawn Shopping Adventure on!
